These fully equipped buses were produced locally by MCV Egypt, an Egyptian company specializing in bus manufacturing. This initiative is part of Super Jet's broader plan to enhance its fleet with the latest models, bringing the company's total to 242 buses.
Each new bus features 49 seats and offers a range of modern
amenities designed for passenger comfort and safety. These include
double-glazed windows for insulation, Wi-Fi connectivity, trip tracking, USB
charging ports, spacious seating with increased legroom, and screens for
entertainment.
During his inspection, El-Wazir emphasized President Abdel
Fattah al-Sisi's directive to localize various industries, including bus
manufacturing, with the aim of transforming Egypt into a regional industrial
hub. He highlighted the commitment to maximizing cooperation with private
sector companies to modernize the passenger transport fleet across all
affiliated companies.
El-Wazir noted that bids are solicited to secure the best
specifications and models at the lowest prices, supporting local manufacturers.
He stressed that all Egyptian government ministries, including the Ministries
of Industry and Transport, adhere to the motto "no imports of buses from
abroad" and fully support national industry. He pointed out that the local
component in these new buses reaches 60 percent.
The minister also stated that in addition to strengthening the current fleet, significant attention is being given to the maintenance, repair, and technical efficiency upgrades of existing buses to ensure high-quality service levels.
