Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, received President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at Abu Dhabi International Airport on Wednesday, at the start of President El-Sisi's visit to the UAE.

After the welcoming ceremony, the two presidents headed to the Beach Palace, where they held a meeting to discuss bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen them to achieve the interests of both countries and the aspirations of their brotherly peoples, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment sectors.

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the meeting also included discussions on regional conditions and ways to restore security and stability in the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners and detainees. For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed praised Egypt's ongoing efforts since the beginning of the crisis, both in mediation to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and to protect the people of Gaza and alleviate the humanitarian suffering they face.

In this context, the two leaders stressed the need to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza in the necessary quantities and without obstacles, to rescue the people of the Strip from the dire humanitarian conditions. They emphasized the need to continue efforts to achieve the two-state solution as the only path to lasting peace and comprehensive stability in the Middle East.

El-Shenawy added that the meeting addressed the situations in Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, and the broader regional situation. The two leaders emphasized the importance of protecting the security and sovereignty of these brotherly countries, in order to achieve the interests and aspirations of their peoples for stability and prosperity.
