President Sisi, Communications Minister review Digital Pioneers Initiative

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi convened with Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Director of the Egyptian Military Academy, to discuss the "Digital Pioneers" (Digilians) initiative. The meeting focused on the program's progress and future expansion, according to Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for the Presidency.

The President was briefed on the latest developments, particularly the executive procedures for joining the Digilians initiative, which is slated to begin in September 2025. Discussions covered the establishment of a registration platform, ongoing technological and engineering preparations, and the necessary infrastructure development to ensure timely implementation.

Minister Talaat reiterated that the initiative is open to all Egyptian youth, regardless of gender, academic background, or governorate. Selection will be based on objective criteria. The comprehensive study programs will include intensive, specialized, professional, and academic diplomas and master's degrees, all offered completely free of charge, encompassing accommodation, living expenses, and training. The curriculum is designed to equip participants with a wide array of technical, personal, linguistic, life, and leadership skills, including freelancing expertise.

The meeting also highlighted the initiative's training tracks, which aim to significantly enhance students' technical capabilities. This includes agreements with numerous global and local companies in Egypt to provide practical training after the theoretical study period. The focus will be on empowering trainees to develop technology-based profitable project ideas, participate in Egypt's national digital projects, and establish freelancing accounts to secure applied projects.

President Sisi underscored the importance of finalizing all executive procedures for the initiative on schedule. He further stressed the need to explore avenues for expanding the beneficiary base to achieve a qualitative leap in the quantity and quality of trained personnel within the communications and information technology sector.

The President also directed enhanced cooperation with specialized local and international technological entities to cultivate the linguistic, life, and leadership skills of Egyptian youth. This aligns with the state's broader strategy to build digital capabilities and specialized technological cadres. Additionally, he emphasized the critical importance of continuing to implement digital transformation plans and further developing the nation's technological infrastructure.
