Sisi discusses enhancing cooperation with African Development Bank

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today, Monday, with Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank Group, in the presence of Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and International Cooperation.

Presidentail spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy conveyed that President El-Sisi expressed Egypt's profound appreciation for the endeavors of the President of the African Development Bank in fortifying the Bank's mandate and facilitating essential financing for the development objectives of African nations throughout his decade-long tenure. President El-Sisi extended his best wishes for the President's future undertakings and underscored Egypt's unwavering commitment to the Bank, inclusive of cooperation with the incoming leadership. The President of the African Development Bank reciprocated by expressing gratitude for Egypt's support and acknowledging its indispensable role in promoting development across the African continent.

He added that the meeting addressed ways to enhance relations between Egypt and the Bank, and emphasized the importance of continuing to develop joint cooperation in various fields especially new and renewable energy, infrastructure, the role of the private sector in achieving development, providing job opportunities, achieving food and water security, enhancing energy efficiency, developing manufacturing capabilities, and driving digital transformation.

Emphasis was also placed on the continued necessity of the Bank's support for Egypt's endeavors in achieving growth, development, and economic reform, in addition to the implementation of projects under the national "NWFE" program.
