Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announced the start of implementation of the "Diarna" housing project, comprising a total of 34 residential buildings in New Cairo, with unit areas ranging from 104 m² to 154 m². He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the project's housing units are constructed to the highest standards.

El-Sherbiny noted that the "Diarna" project falls within the Ministry of Housing's efforts to meet the needs of citizens from various social groups. It is part of a comprehensive plan to provide suitable and safe housing, along with various basic services and necessary facilities, such as water, electricity, and sanitation, to ensure a decent life for citizens. He noted that the "Diarna" project will include the construction of approximately 60,000 housing units in 2,310 buildings across 23 new cities.

Engineer Abdel Raouf El-Gheity, Chairman of the New Cairo City Development Authority, and officials from the authority inspected the pouring of the first concrete slab in Building No. 4 of the project, near the Misr Al-Andalus Housing in the West University Area. He emphasized the need to implement the work according to agreed specifications and on schedule.

El-Gheity also monitored the progress of the Aswaq Al-Khair (Civilized Market) project in the city's Third Settlement, which is being implemented in cooperation with the city's Board of Trustees, headed by Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Wahsh.

He explained that the Aswaq Al-Khair project is a model, civilized market in the Third Settlement, covering an area of ​​76,172 square meters. This project aims to preserve the civilized appearance of New Cairo, as part of the city's and the Board of Trustees' efforts to combat informal markets and street vendors and replace them with civilized ones.

He said the market will include shops, cafeterias, a gas station, an administrative building, a covered parking lot, green areas, pergolas, and fountains. He emphasized that the market represents a civilized leap forward that meets all the needs of the city's residents.
