The international light aircraft rally competition, “Rally Siwa Sands 2025,” was launched today, Saturday, hosted by Egypt from April 4 to 9, under the supervision of the International Federation of Air Sports (FAI), and sponsored by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and in coordination and support from the Air Force, the Armed Forces Operations Authority, and the Egyptian Aviation Club. The event was organized by the “Flying Pharaoh” company.

Organizing these types of international competitions consolidates Egypt’s position as a leading destination in the field of air sports, and to enhance tourism promotion, especially Egyptian tourist destinations.

This year, the rally witnesses the participation of 10 light aircraft representing a number of European and Middle Eastern countries, including England, Germany, France, Poland, Turkey, Bulgaria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to the host country Egypt.

The competition starts from Marsa Matrouh International Airport, pass through Siwa Airport, then El Alamein International Airport, and conclude at Sphinx International Airport. During the competition stages, aircraft will fly over prominent tourist and archaeological landmarks such as the Giza Pyramids, Saqqara, Siwa Oasis, and New Alamein City, providing participants with an experience that combines flight, exploration, and the stunning natural beauty of Egypt.

This year's edition bears the slogan "Rally Siwa Sands 2025," a nod to the pivotal role of the Siwa Oasis and a demonstration of the beauty of Egypt's unique natural landscape. The event comes within the tourism and sports events agenda of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which aims to organize the most prominent local and international activities.

Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, expressed his appreciation to the sponsors and participants in organizing this event, stressing that Egypt's hosting of it reflects its high organizational capabilities and its ability to host international sporting and tourism events.

He pointed out that the rally is an opportunity to attract a new category of tourists, especially private aircraft owners and air adventure enthusiasts, given Egypt's advanced infrastructure, including a network of airports close to major tourist destinations. He emphasized the importance of such events in promoting the culture of air sports, promoting tourism globally, and highlighting the country's fascinating archaeological and natural resources.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasized that Egypt's organization of the Siwa Sands 2025 Light Aircraft Rally reflects the state's interest in developing and revitalizing sports tourism and supporting air sports as part of the ministry's strategy to enhance Egypt's position on the global sporting events map.

He stated that the event is a unique opportunity to promote Egyptian tourist destinations, especially the Siwa Oasis, which boasts unique natural beauty. He noted that such events contribute to strengthening the sports economy and attracting more tourists interested in adventure and air sports, emphasizing that Egypt has become an international destination in Africa and the Middle East for hosting major sporting events.
