Agriculture Minister: Brazil opens market to Egyptian strawberry

The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation,Alaa Farouk, and Head of the Agricultural Services Sector Dr. Ahmed Azzam, directed the opening of markets for various Egyptian products. This initiative aims to support the Egyptian economy and ensure the smooth flow of Egyptian agricultural exports to different countries worldwide.

Dr. Mohamed El-Mansy, Head of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, announced the opening of the Brazilian market to Egypt's strawberry seedling exports after the Brazilian side completed its pest risk analysis study.

El-Mansy clarified that the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) had provided the agricultural quarantine with the import requirements, which were studied and approved by the quarantine. The Brazilian side then immediately published the decision in the Brazilian Official Gazette on March 13, 2025.

It is worth noting that the Minister of Agriculture has directed that Egypt become a center for the production and export of seedlings for various crops, with strawberries being a priority, due to Egypt's competitive advantages, such as free trade agreements with many global blocs.
