The Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy is set to inaugurate Egypt's largest solar power plant in Kom Ombo, Aswan Governorate, this coming Saturday. The 560-megawatt plant will be officially opened by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, alongside key officials including the Minister of Electricity, the Governor of Aswan, and representatives from Novas, the Emirati company responsible for the project's implementation and ownership.
Spanning approximately 10,000 square meters in Aswan
Governorate, the plant has been successfully connected to the national
electricity grid. The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company will purchase
the energy generated by the project, which operates under the "Build, Own,
Operate" (BOO) system.
Imia Power, the Emirati company behind the project, has
stated that the plant will significantly contribute to powering an estimated
256,000 homes across Egypt.
