Badawi meets Arcius CEO to boost Egypt’s natural gas investments

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Nasser Saif Al Yafei, Chief Executive Officer of Arcius Energy, the joint venture between the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Group and the British Petroleum (BP) Company, along with his accompanying delegation.

The Minister affirmed that the ministry has recently taken continuous steps to enhance Arcius Energy’s investments in Egypt, noting that the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) team held a joint workshop to coordinate cooperation and identify opportunities to increase investments.

Badawi added that Arcius Energy aims to strengthen cooperation and investment in Egypt, positioning the country as a strong regional hub for the company in the natural gas sector.

During the meeting, the CEO reviewed the company’s expansion plans in Egypt and its ambitious five-year program for natural gas exploration, development, and production. The program aims to unlock new gas resource opportunities, double the company’s production rates, and expand its portfolio through increased investments in exploration and field development. The company also highlighted its success in finalizing the investment agreement to develop the Harmattan gas field in the Mediterranean Sea, while simultaneously pursuing opportunities to acquire new natural gas exploration areas.

This approach reflects Arcius Energy’s commitment to making Egypt a central point for regional growth in the natural gas industry, leveraging both technical expertise and strategic investment to meet rising energy demands.
