Mr. Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, inaugurated today the Ministry’s Ramadan products pavilion at the Gomla Market branch in Mariouteya, Giza. The initiative is part of the Ministry’s strategy to enhance joint cooperation and social responsibility, and to activate a genuine partnership with the private sector to provide essential goods at reduced prices.
Farouk emphasized that the Ministry places utmost importance
on involving the private sector in achieving food security. He noted that this
is a national imperative dictated by social responsibility toward Egyptian
citizens. He added that the state believes in integrating efforts with the
expertise and capabilities of the private sector to regulate markets and expand
access to products at affordable prices.
The Minister affirmed that the initiative comes in line with
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, highlighting the need for all
entities to cooperate to alleviate the burden on Egyptian families, especially
with the approach of Ramadan. This will be achieved by expanding initiatives
that ensure goods are offered at competitive prices, lower than those in
external markets.
During his inspection tour of the pavilion, Farouk stressed
the importance of sustainability and quality in all displayed products. He
directed officials in the production sectors and relevant departments within
the Ministry to ensure a continuous supply of products, particularly strategic
commodities such as meat and poultry, to meet citizens’ needs for high-quality
protein at affordable prices. He also emphasized the importance of fresh fruits
and vegetables to guarantee the availability of all Ramadan necessities in one
location.
He affirmed that the Ministry will maintain strict quality
control over all displayed products and ensure the pavilion operates throughout
the upcoming period. Farouk noted that the goal is not only to provide the
goods but to ensure they meet high-quality standards suitable for Egyptian
citizens and are provided sustainably.
