The delegation included Umit Eroglu, Chairman of Eroglu Group, Mohamed Nagaty Fidanli, the group’s general manager in Egypt, and Murat Ozturk, Chairman of Realteks.
The meeting was held in the presence of a number of senior
officials from the ministry and the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning,
Weaving, and Garments.
The meeting discussed opportunities and prospects for joint
cooperation in the ready-made garment industry, with a particular focus on
denim fabrics. The discussions highlighted Egypt’s integrated industrial
capabilities, advanced infrastructure, strategic geographic location, and its
long history and accumulated expertise in the spinning and weaving industry.
Shimi said the ministry
fully welcomes cooperation and partnerships with local and foreign private
sector investors. He noted that the ministry is working to provide all
necessary facilities and incentives to investors, contributing to attracting
further investments, deepening local manufacturing, and achieving real added
value for the national economy. He pointed out that the spinning and weaving
sector affiliated with the ministry is currently undergoing comprehensive
development as part of the national project to upgrade this vital industry. He
explained that new factories are being equipped with the latest global
technologies to achieve the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and
productivity, while enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in local
and international markets.
During the meeting, the features of the national project to
develop the spinning and weaving industry within companies affiliated with the
Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving, and Garments under the Ministry
of Public Business Sector were reviewed. The first phase of the project has
been completed and successfully put into operation, covering several factories
of Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in El Mahalla El Kubra. The second phase,
which includes the remaining Ghazl El Mahalla factories, is nearing completion,
along with a new factory affiliated with Misr Shebin El Kom Spinning and
Weaving Company, which recently entered the operational phase. Work is also
proceeding in parallel on the third phase, covering companies in Damietta,
Dakahlia, El Beida Dyers, Helwan, and Upper Egypt for Spinning and Weaving.
Members of the Turkish delegation reviewed the activities of
Eroglu Group and its more than forty years of experience in the ready-made
garment industry, particularly denim products. They also presented an overview
of the group’s new factory in Qantara West, expressing confidence in Egypt’s
investment climate and the promising opportunities it offers for growth,
expansion, and the establishment of successful and sustainable industrial
partnerships.
