Egypt Post launches electronic registration for Old Rent Law beneficiaries

Egypt Post announced that starting Sunday, January 18, electronic registration will be available for citizens covered by the Old Rent Law ("Alternative Housing") through 500 post offices fully covering all governorates nationwide. Egypt Post said the move comes as part of efforts to facilitate access for citizens and deliver government services in an organized and secure manner.

Egypt Post confirmed that applications in the first phase will be limited to customers who have an active account on the Digital Egypt Platform. Egypt Post explained that applicants’ data will be verified electronically through the platform to ensure data accuracy and speed in completing procedures. Egypt Post added that the service to create and activate new accounts on the Digital Egypt Platform through post offices will be made available at a later stage.

Egypt Post clarified that participating post offices will operate during evening hours until 6:00 p.m. Egypt Post said the extended hours aim to allow the largest possible number of citizens to benefit from the service.

Egypt Post urged citizens wishing to apply to ensure they have an active account on the Digital Egypt Platform before heading to the designated post offices. Egypt Post stressed that this step is necessary to guarantee prompt and accurate service delivery.
