El-Etreby discusses supply chain resilience with Japan

Ambassador Ragui El-Etreby, Egypt’s Ambassador to Japan, met with Kimi Onoda, Japan’s Minister of Economic Security, to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation and strengthening economic partnerships between the two nations.

The discussions highlighted the growing momentum in Egypt-Japan relations and the shared commitment to expanding industrial and technological ties.

During the meeting, Ambassador El-Etreby emphasized Egypt's dedication to attracting further Japanese investment. He noted the high level of support from Egypt's political leadership for Japanese companies currently operating in the Egyptian market.

He detailed ongoing efforts to engage with the Japanese business community, showcasing high-growth opportunities in advanced technology, clean energy, industry, and Suez Canal Economic Zone sectors.

Minister Kimi Onoda expressed her appreciation for the robust ties between Cairo and Tokyo. She emphasized that Japan’s strategy for "Economic Security" hinges on diversifying global supply chains and expanding cooperation with strategic partners like Egypt.

She lauded Egypt’s significant industrial and technological developments. Both sides agreed to continue coordinating efforts to support joint initiatives, enhance institutional communication, and elevate economic partnerships to a higher level in a way that serves the interests of both countries.
