ETA launches Premium Service Centers as part of major digital transformation initiative

Rasha Abdel Aal, Chairperson of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), announced that the launch of "Premium Tax Service Centers" marks a fundamental shift in the philosophy of government service delivery. Part of the second package of tax facilitation measures, these centers aim to place the taxpayer at the heart of the system.

The initiative follows directives from Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk to modernize the tax ecosystem, enhance service quality for investors and taxpayers, and ensure maximum efficiency through digital integration.

The Premium Centers introduce an integrated model for modern taxation, designed to finalize all transactions in a single location. By utilizing advanced technology and simplified procedures, the ETA aims to drastically reduce service wait times, increase taxpayer satisfaction, and alleviate pressure on traditional tax offices.

"These centers are not just about a modern aesthetic; they reflect a comprehensive vision for a new tax experience," stated Rasha Abdel Aal. "We are building a new identity for the Tax Authority as a supportive partner to economic activity, ensuring effective service without congestion or delays."

The Premium Centers provide a complete bundle of services under one roof, fulfilling the "One-Stop-Shop" concept. Key services include: Tax Registration & Investor Support: Streamlined onboarding for new businesses; Electronic Systems Support: Technical assistance for the E-Invoicing and E-Receipt systems; Tax Awareness: Guidance on the latest tax facilitations and legislative updates; and Digital Technical Support: Specialized help desks for navigating the ETA’s digital platforms.

In a pioneering move for the public sector, the ETA is integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a core pillar of the service experience. AI will be utilized to direct taxpayers efficiently within the centers, provide a "Smart Tax Assistant" to answer inquiries instantly, and empower tax officers with intelligent tools to complete transactions with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

The taxpayer journey has been re-engineered into clear, simplified steps. It begins with online appointment booking and document preparation, followed by automated identity recognition upon entry. The process concludes with the digital receipt of documents and an instant service evaluation, ensuring continuous performance improvement.

Rasha Abdel Aal concluded that these centers represent a strategic milestone in enhancing Egypt’s investment climate. By adopting global best practices in government services, the ETA is supporting the national goal of building a robust and sustainable economy.
