Health Minister reviews financial roadmap for healthcare projects

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, held a strategic meeting with representatives from Al Marasem Development to monitor financial flows and progress for several joint healthcare infrastructure projects.

The meeting underscores the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring sustainable funding and the efficient management of resources allocated to upgrading Egypt’s national healthcare facilities.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, stated that the Minister opened the session by praising the fruitful cooperation with Al Marasem. The Minister commended the company's adherence to international technical standards and strict delivery timelines, citing the collaboration as a successful model of how the private sector can support state objectives in the vital health sector.

The discussions focused on the financial status of current joint ventures, including expenditure rates (analyzing current spending against project milestones), and monitoring mechanisms (enhancing oversight to ensure full compliance with established execution schedules).

The Minister stressed the need for continuous coordination between Al Marasem and relevant government bodies to eliminate any bureaucratic hurdles that could impede financial liquidity or completion rates.

A primary focus of the meeting was the Medical City project, affiliated with the General Organization for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes (GOTHI). Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the strategic importance of this mega-project, which features expansive scale spanning 270 acres, high capacity (a total capacity of 4,200 beds), and educational impact which is designed to serve as a hub for medical education and the professional development of healthcare cadres, alongside providing top-tier clinical care.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed that upgrading healthcare infrastructure remains a top priority for the Egyptian state, aimed directly at improving the quality of life and medical services provided to citizens.
