Egypt, Pico Petroleum sign $30M deal for Suez Gulf exploration

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Pico Petroleum have signed an agreement for oil exploration in the East Gamsa area of the Gulf of Suez, with a minimum investment commitment exceeding $30 million and a $1 million signature bonus. The deal includes the drilling of four new wells.

The Cabinet Media Center stated the agreement represents a successful model for partnership with the Egyptian private sector and encourages its investment in oil exploration and production.

The agreement aligns with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources' strategy to intensify crude oil exploration. This aims to discover new reserves, boost Egypt's production capacity, support local output, and reduce the country's import bill.
