The Cabinet Media Center said on Monday that the zone
includes cumulative Chinese investments of more than 3 billion US dollars. The
zone provides nearly 10,000 direct job opportunities.
The center added that an agreement was recently reached to
expand the zone by about three square kilometers. The expansion will attract
more advanced industries in the fields of new energy and advanced materials.
The total investments for this expansion are estimated at 100 million US
dollars.
The zone already includes factories that produce cables,
large pipes, and household appliances. The local component in some of these
products exceeds 70 percent. The Cabinet Media Center stated that the zone
represents a true model of industrial integration and serves as a key driver
connecting Egyptian production with regional markets.
