Egypt Raises Fuel Prices, Pledges One-Year Stability

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced that, effective from 6 a.m. today, Friday, fuel prices have increased.

Gasoline 95 now costs 21 Egyptian pounds per liter, up from 19 pounds.

Gasoline 92 now costs 19.25 pounds per liter, up from 17.25 pounds.

Gasoline 80 now costs 17.75 pounds per liter, up from 15.75 pounds.

Diesel now costs 17.5 pounds per liter, up from 15.5 pounds.

Compressed natural gas (CNG) now costs 10 pounds per cubic meter, up from 7 pounds.

The ministry added that following this increase and considering developments locally, regionally, and globally, the government decided to maintain the domestic sale prices of petroleum products at a minimum general level. The petroleum sector continues to operate refineries at full capacity, settle partners’ arrears, and approve incentive packages. These measures aim to boost production, reduce import costs, and achieve relative stability in prices while narrowing the gap between costs and retail prices.
