Planning and Economic Development Minister Ahmed Rostom and Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said the upcoming fiscal year would prioritize President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to place citizens' quality of life at the top of public spending.
The ministers agreed that the 2026-2027 budget will focus on
three primary pillars to ensure tangible economic results: Directing financial
allocations toward sectors that impact daily life, specifically health, education,
and essential services, linking government funding to measurable developmental
outcomes to bolster macroeconomic stability, and securing necessary funding for
food and energy security to protect national assets amid regional and
international challenges.
The coordination meeting follows instructions from Prime
Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly during the new government’s first session.
The ministers emphasized that the cabinet is working as a single team to ensure the 2026-2027 plan remains ambitious yet realistic. The goal, they said, is to balance strict fiscal discipline with the public's growing expectations for better living standards.
