MSMEDA empowers emerging brands at Private Label Egypt Expo

The Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) is set to launch the "Private Label Egypt" B2B exhibition on Thursday, aiming to link local manufacturers with major brands and reduce the nation’s import bill.

MSMEDA CEO Bassel Rahmy stated that the agency is committed to empowering industrial projects by providing marketing services and growth opportunities. He noted that such initiatives are vital for creating decent and sustainable jobs for Egyptian youth and graduates while driving overall economic development.

The exhibition, organized in partnership with private sector firm Torky Expo, focuses on the contract manufacturing model. Rahmy highlighted that this sector allows brands to bypass direct production costs and lower import expenses, a strategy increasingly used to bolster local industry.

"We invite entrepreneurs and those looking to start new ventures to explore market needs," Rahmy said. "Private labeling has become a key sector for reducing costs and supporting the domestic industrial base."

The three-day event, held at the Direct 5 complex in New Cairo from Feb. 12 to 14, will feature workshops and seminars through sessions led by over 30 international and Egyptian entrepreneurship experts, direct links between manufacturers and local brands to secure high-quality supply chains, and MSMEDA pavilion offering financial and non-financial services to both visitors and participants.

Suhail Torky, Chairman of Torky Expo, praised the collaboration with MSMEDA, calling the exhibition a new experience for the Egyptian market. He emphasized the private sector's role in supporting state efforts to expand exports by ensuring local products meet international quality standards.

The event will showcase a wide range of sectors, including food processing, cosmetics, detergents, chemicals, household products, and textiles, entrepreneurs,
