Egypt promotes investment opportunities to Japanese companies in Tokyo

The Egyptian Embassy in Tokyo organized a promotional event for the Egyptian economy for a number of Japanese companies participating in the “Quality Infrastructure Dialogue,” scheduled to be held in Cairo on February 10, in the presence of the Commercial Office.

The event was attended by representatives of Toyota Tsusho Group, Shimizu Corporation, Fujita Corporation, Nippon Steel, Sakai Heavy Industries, Toray Industries, TOYO Construction, and Sumitomo Group, in addition to senior officials from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Cairo.

During the event, Egypt’s Ambassador to Tokyo, Ragui El-Etreby, affirmed the government’s commitment to developing the business environment and providing a favorable climate for Japanese companies seeking to invest in Egypt. He highlighted the noticeable improvement in financial and economic indicators in recent years.

The embassy also reviewed a number of promising sectors for Japanese investors and highlighted Egypt’s competitive advantages as a strategic hub linking Africa with global markets.

The event featured presentations by members of the embassy, the Commercial Office, and JICA. The presentations addressed the concept of high-quality infrastructure and the role of technical education under the Japanese KOSEN model in supporting the needs of Japanese companies operating in Egypt. They also reviewed successful examples of existing Japanese investments in the Egyptian market.

The event also included interactive discussions, during which embassy officials responded directly to inquiries from participating companies.

The event concluded with the ambassador inviting attendees to continue engagement and benefit from the upcoming investment visit to Egypt, with the aim of deepening economic partnership between the two countries.

A dinner reception following the meeting also provided an opportunity to enhance informal interaction among participants and exchange views on future cooperation opportunities between Egypt and Japan.
