The program falls under the "Digital Academy," an initiative launched by the CBE’s FinTech Egypt. It aims to bolster the skills of banking and financial professionals in financial technology, aligning with state digital transformation goals and efforts to enhance technological innovation within the sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by former Prime Minister
and Chairman of the NGU Advisory Board Ahmed Nazif, CBE Deputy Governor Rami
Aboulnaga, and NGU Vice President Lamis Ragab.
"The launch of this diploma is part of the CBE’s
FinTech and Innovation strategy, which aims to transform Egypt into a leading
regional hub for the fintech industry in the Arab world and Africa,"
Abdalla said.
He emphasized that AI has become a primary engine for
progress, noting its vital role in data analysis, forecasting, and
decision-making. In banking, Abdalla added, AI is essential for improving
financial services, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
The CBE governor also celebrated the 2024-2025 class of
students who completed the "FinTech Fundamentals" course. The subject
was integrated into the curricula of several universities, including NGU,
through the "FinYology" initiative.
NGU President Ahmed Sameh Farid stated that the partnership
reflects the university's mission and aligns with "Digital Egypt Vision
2030," which prioritizes investing in human capital to handle modern
technology.
"The role of academic institutions goes beyond granting
degrees; it extends to creating 'change leaders' qualified to drive digital
transformation across various economic sectors," Farid added.
Abdel Aziz Nossier, Executive Director of the Egyptian
Banking Institute (EBI), noted that the diploma aligns with the institute's
current plan to upgrade the skills of banking staff in line with global
developments.
The diploma consists of five integrated training programs. Each module combines practical banking case studies with frameworks and educational exercises designed to enhance interaction and applied skills.
