The meeting was attended by the Governors of Giza and Beni Suef, the Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), and officials from the Industrial Development Authority (IDA), alongside investor association representatives.
Discussions centered on the progress of water, sewage, and
industrial drainage systems. Al-Wazir emphasized the critical need for advanced
industrial wastewater treatment plants to ensure environmental safety and
regulatory compliance. He noted that the facility currently under construction
in Kom Abu Radi is being built to the highest international standards.
Al-Wazir stated that providing infrastructure to industrial
zones is a cornerstone for attracting new investment and maintaining existing
projects. He directed that each zone establishes an investor association to
manage and maintain internal facilities in coordination with the FEI and
relevant authorities, mirroring Egypt’s successful industrial developer model.
The Minister highlighted that significant progress has been
made in providing electricity, water, sewage, and gas to both zones, which
house major local and international firms serving both domestic and export
markets. This management approach is expected to be rolled out across other
industrial zones to ensure sustainability.
The committee will meet monthly to monitor progress, with Al-Wazir scheduled to visit Kom Abu Radi in mid-next month to inaugurate the new industrial drainage plant and inspect local factories.
