Accompanied by Qalyubia Governor Engineer Ayman Atteya and GAFI CEO Mohamed El-Gawsaky, the Minister toured factories specializing in food processing and pharmaceuticals to monitor operations within the Nile Delta province.
EL-Khatib inspected production lines at the Al-Sawaf citrus
packaging plant and the Al-Tahan facility for dates and agricultural crops. The
visit underscored Egypt’s strategy to add value to its agricultural output
before exporting to regional and international markets.
The Minister also inaugurated the Pharma Z factory, a new facility
dedicated to nutritional supplements, and visited the Ghazi Land dairy plant.
Khatib emphasized that the food and pharmaceutical sectors are cornerstones of
national food security and vital drivers for job creation.
During the tour, El-Khatib held discussions with factory
owners regarding operational challenges and bureaucratic hurdles. He reaffirmed
the ministry's commitment to removing all obstacles for serious investors,
aiming to increase production capacity and enhance the competitiveness of
"Made in Egypt" products.
