Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held an extended meeting to review the implementation status of projects in several governorates under the first phase of the presidential initiative “Decent Life” to develop Egyptian rural villages. The meeting was attended by ministry officials, affiliated agencies, implementing companies, and the project consultant, as part of the regular follow-up on all works within the initiative.

El-Sherbiny opened the meeting by referring to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to monitor the completion of the remaining works of the first phase of “Decent Life,” remove all obstacles to ensure rapid execution and delivery of projects, and prepare intensively and systematically for the launch of the second phase. He stressed the need to adhere to the highest standards of performance and implementation according to the latest quality benchmarks. He noted that the “Decent Life” projects are of great importance as they directly affect the quality of life of Egyptian citizens.

The meeting reviewed the implementation status of “Decent Life” projects in the governorates of Gharbia, Qalyubia, Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, Luxor, and Menoufia. Advanced stages of projects were observed under the Ministry of Housing’s supervision in these governorates. This included service building projects such as health units implemented by the Ministry’s Central Agency for Reconstruction, as well as drinking water and sanitation projects carried out by the Water and Wastewater Holding Company and the National Water and Wastewater Company. These projects cover sewage networks, household water and sewage connections, drinking water plants, and wastewater treatment plants.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the minister emphasized the importance of regular follow-up and monitoring the progress of project implementation rates under the “Decent Life” initiative. He stressed daily on-site supervision by ministry officials for all projects, adherence to deadlines, and completion of all remaining works to ensure the projects enter service and deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
