Finance Minister expands Harvard partnership to empower young leaders

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to bolstering the capabilities of Egyptian students at international universities. By expanding local and international training programs and providing access to advanced initiatives across various disciplines, the Ministry aims to foster a new generation of innovative leaders to drive national development.

Kouchouk emphasized a deepening partnership with Harvard University, aimed at investing in young leaders and enhancing their global competitiveness. "We are focused on developing human capital to create highly efficient cadres who can impact the development path and ensure the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy," Kouchouk stated.

The Ministry’s future strategy includes:

Advanced Degrees: Expanding opportunities for Master’s and higher research degrees to serve national development goals.

Cutting-Edge Research: Leveraging global initiatives in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Climate Change, and Quantitative Sciences.

Public Sector Integration: Ensuring scholarship recipients are integrated into public service to support state agencies with international expertise.

The Minister highlighted the Fellowship Fund, established in collaboration with Harvard, which finances approximately 10 scholarships annually for high-achieving Egyptian students.

Since 2009, the Ministry of Finance has provided full support to 59 students who successfully passed Harvard’s rigorous admission process. These scholars have pursued Master’s degrees in critical fields, including Public Administration and Government, Public Health, and Education and Design.

Kouchouk also noted that Harvard now offers new digital learning channels free of charge, providing advanced technological education opportunities.

The Ministry’s International Financial and Economic Relations Department maintains regular follow-ups with students throughout their academic journey to resolve any obstacles. These specialized programs are meticulously selected to align with Egypt’s strategic development plans.

Prospective students can find more details regarding application requirements and available programs on the Ministry of Finance’s official website.
