Following directives from Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, the authority has begun community dialogue sessions to convert business feedback into "practical solutions," Abdel Aal stated. She noted that positive reactions to the first phase of facilities encouraged the ministry to expand incentives, particularly for compliant taxpayers, to reduce financial burdens and improve service quality.
Key measures in the second package include:
Faster Refunds: Streamlining the tax system to ensure
"fast and tangible" VAT refunds, providing much-needed liquidity for
companies.
Simplified Systems: Extending the simplified tax regime to
cover the 2023 and 2024 tax periods.
Settlement Mechanisms: Expanding the "offsetting"
mechanism to allow taxpayers to balance credit and debit balances, while
enabling income tax credit refunds directly from tax returns.
Dispute Resolution: Renewing the Tax Dispute Settlement Law
to finalize pending cases and ensure market stability, a key demand from the
business sector.
Abdel Aal also announced the opening of new "premium service centers" to modernize taxpayer support, with the first branches set to launch in New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed City, and New Alamein.
