Sisi pledges full support for grain storage silos project

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met Wednesday with Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, presidential adviser for urban planning, and Colonel Dr. Bahaa El-Ghannam, executive director of the Mostakbal Misr (Egypt's Future) Sustainable Development Project.

The meeting reviewed the latest progress in the Mostakbal Misr project, including construction work and various activities in agriculture, industry, livestock, urban development, and the provision of direct and indirect job opportunities, presidential spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy said in a statement. The work is being carried out in partnership with the private sector.

El- Ghannam detailed efforts for agricultural expansion in the "New Delta" region in the western desert, as well as projects underway in southern Egypt and the Mostakbal Misr Industrial City. He presented the current status of work, undertaken in partnership with the ministries of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and Supply and Internal Trade, to develop the Commodity Exchange and other agency activities. This includes efforts to secure strategic goods and boost their availability through projects aimed at increasing storage capacity for essential crops, which contributes to meeting the state's needs.

President Sisi stressed the importance of boosting partnership with the private sector and attracting foreign investment to achieve self-sufficiency in strategic goods, thus ensuring the sustainable security of citizen needs, the spokesman said.

Sisi also directed officials to provide full support to projects of strategic importance, particularly the grain and cereal storage silos project. He called for continuing the state's plan to expand the agricultural area, increase production, and develop the agricultural manufacturing system, while ensuring a balance between the interests of producers and consumers within the framework of comprehensive development.

Al-Shenawy also noted that the meeting reviewed the role of the Mostakbal Misr project in urban development. Col. Ghannam presented updates on the establishment of the Eco-City, a project carried out by the agency in cooperation with major real estate developers to promote environmental and climate investment.

In conclusion, the president affirmed the importance of the Mostakbal Misr projects across various sectors as a fundamental pillar for implementing the state's plan to achieve sustainable development in its economic, social, and environmental dimensions, stressing the necessity of adhering to the set timelines for their completion and execution.
