Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Sherif El-Sherbiny, met with Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber to review the status of several joint development projects.

The meeting at the Housing Ministry in the New Administrative Capital focused on initiatives where the ministry is collaborating with the Cairo Governorate.

El-Sherbiny highlighted the ministry's role in developing unsafe areas within the capital, including the Maspero Triangle district, as well as its involvement in the ongoing revitalization of historic Cairo.

For his part, Dr. Saber praised the cooperation with the Housing Ministry, noting that it aims to restore the capital's historic appeal and improve living conditions for its residents.

The two officials discussed strategies for dealing with the issue of dilapidated buildings, a priority set by Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly. They reviewed proposals for creating a clear mechanism to manage these properties, similar to the approach used for informal settlements.

The discussion also covered the latest progress on the Maspero Triangle development project, including the Nile-facing towers, and the revitalization of the historic Magra El Oyoun Project.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the ongoing restoration of the Azbakeya Heritage Garden and its surrounding area. El-Sherbiny stressed that the project aims to revive the historic garden's cultural and historical role, boosting tourism in the area.

Finally, the officials reviewed the status of social housing projects, with 229,086 units completed in Cairo, and discussed ongoing work on water and sanitation stations within the governorate.
