The NFSA's 27th weekly report for 2025 revealed that Egyptian exporters shipped 3,810 food consignments, including 644 different types of products, to 170 countries. Beans led vegetable exports at 8,000 tons, followed by potatoes at 7,000 tons and frozen mixed vegetables at 6,000 tons.
Fruit exports were topped by strawberries at 10,000 tons,
while mangoes and red grapes each accounted for 5,000 tons.
Sudan, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Russia were
among the top importers of Egyptian food products for the week.
On the import side, Egypt received 2,060 shipments from 84
countries, with wheat, oils, fava beans, and soybeans being the primary
commodities. Ukraine was the leading source of imports, followed by Russia,
Indonesia, and the United States.
Alexandria Port was the busiest point of entry and exit,
handling the largest number of both export and import shipments.
In its regulatory role, the NFSA issued 750 health certificates for exports and 85 import licenses. The authority also conducted field inspections at 312 food establishments across several governorates to ensure safety standards were met, taking corrective action where violations were found.
