Nuclear Authority: Egypt safe after Iran uranium facility strikes

Egypt's Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (NRRA) said Sunday it was monitoring the situation after uranium enrichment and conversion facilities in Iran were targeted at dawn.

The NRRA stated that Egypt was far from any direct impact from the developments and assured citizens that no change or increase in radiation levels had been reported by any of Iran's neighbouring countries.

The Authority added it was continuously monitoring the status of nuclear facilities in the region around the clock, citing ongoing reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and coordination with national authorities. It also noted it was monitoring background radiation through its own nationwide system of advanced detection devices.

The NRRA urged citizens to rely only on official statements for information on the matter.
