Madbouly inspects final preparations for Grand Egyptian Museum opening

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly inspected on Monday evening the final arrangements for the Grand Egyptian Museum opening. The visit came after the conclusion of the Cabinet meetings.

Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, and Mohamed El Saadi, Board Member of United Media Services and General Supervisor of the opening ceremony, accompanied the Prime Minister during the tour.

Dr. Madbouly said the evening visit aimed to ensure full readiness for the national celebration. He explained that the event will bring together presidents, prime ministers, and senior officials from many countries. He added that the celebration reflects the grandeur of the museum and highlights Egypt’s achievements in all fields. He noted that the opening represents Egypt’s cultural position on the global stage.

He stated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed all concerned authorities to continue coordination to organize a ceremony that reflects Egypt’s status. He said the event will also promote Egypt’s leadership in museums and global culture and support tourism promotion.

The Prime Minister reviewed the final preparations for improving the visual landscape and developing the main roads leading to the museum. He checked the lighting systems and followed up on the rehearsals for the artistic and cultural performances.

Madbouly inspected the ongoing preparations inside the museum and in its exhibition halls. He reviewed the arrangements for receiving official and international delegations attending the opening.

Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim presented an update on the final stages of preparation. He explained the plans for welcoming visitors and international guests.

The tour included inspections of Remaya Square, the Cairo–Alexandria Desert Road, the Sphinx International Airport area, and the surroundings of the Grand Egyptian Museum. Officials confirmed that work has been completed to improve roads and public spaces. They said cleaning, landscaping, and lighting have been intensified to create a festive and welcoming atmosphere for Egypt’s guests.

At the end of the tour, the Prime Minister directed the completion of all final preparations. He confirmed the full readiness of logistical and organizational arrangements for the highly anticipated opening ceremony.
