Gobran announces official holiday for private sector on November 1

Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran announced that next Saturday, November 1, will be an official paid holiday for private sector workers governed by Labor Law No. 14 of 2025 on the occasion of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Labor Minister explained that the decision follows Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly’s directive to grant an official paid holiday on this occasion. The holiday applies to workers in ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, public sector companies, and the public business sector.

Gobran added that the Ministry of Labor issued Circular No. 20 of 2025 today to all labor directorates across the governorates. The circular instructs granting private sector employees governed by the Labor Law an official paid holiday. The move aims to unify holiday dates across all state sectors and achieve social and national objectives.

He stressed the need for heads of central departments at the ministry’s headquarters and directors of labor directorates in the governorates to implement the circular. They must apply its provisions in workplaces and production sites, each within their jurisdiction.
