Finance Minister inspects tax facilitations in Alexandria

Ahmed Kouchouk, the Minister of Finance, recently conducted a field visit to the Large and Medium Taxpayer Center in Alexandria. The visit was part of his ongoing commitment to closely monitor the implementation of the first package of tax facilitations.

During his visit, Kouchouk engaged in a dialogue with employees at the center, discussing the philosophy behind these tax facilitations. He expressed his appreciation to the staff, stating, "My sincere thanks to the leaders and employees of the Tax Authority for their genuine desire to change the reality for the better to serve the business community."

Minister Kouchouk urged them to "make things easier for our taxpayer partners" by improving service and proactively changing the reality to "motivate them to compete and expand their businesses." He also emphasized the importance of providing "comprehensive and simplified explanations to taxpayers" to help them benefit from the tax facilitations and to continue fostering a positive environment within the business community through effective implementation.

He also expressed his satisfaction with the staff's commitment to reform, stating, "I am very pleased with my colleagues' conviction in the evolving reform path and their initiative to propose new ideas to ease the burden on taxpayers."

Kouchouk also engaged in a discussion with several taxpayers. He affirmed that "the next packages of tax facilitations will address more real-world challenges." Kouchouk articulated the overarching goal of these initiatives: to "broaden the tax base and build a partnership based on certainty, trust, and quality of service to voluntarily attract more new taxpayers."

The Minister was accompanied on his field tour by Sherif El-Kilany, Deputy Minister for Tax Policies; Ramy Youssef, Assistant Minister for Tax Policies and Development; and Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Tax Authority.
