Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade held an expanded meeting with the heads and representatives of export councils to review the implementation of the first phase of the Foreign Trade Platform, a key component of the ministry's structural and procedural reform plan.

The platform is being developed in collaboration with the Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

The Ministry stated the platform is not merely a digital tool but an integrated mechanism designed to support Egyptian exporters, boost their competitive readiness, and enhance their access to global markets by improving decision-making based on data and scientific analysis.

The Ministry is working to complete the remaining phases of the platform, with the aim of it becoming the primary national gateway for Egyptian exporters to efficiently reach global markets, in line with international best practices.

The first phase of the platform has two main pillars:

Informational and Analytical: In its final version, the platform is intended to be the unified national reference for Egyptian exporters. It will provide tools for analyzing global markets by HS Codes, calculating pricing margins (CIF and FOB), identifying non-tariff measures (NTMs), and offering sectoral studies and reports, alongside a knowledge library.

Capacity Building and Promotion: This pillar aims to enable exporters to make optimal use of the available information, enhance their competitive readiness, and utilize the platform as a promotional tool to internationally boost the credibility of Egyptian exporters and open new opportunities in promising markets.

Participants in the meeting described the discussions as fruitful, affirming that the methodology adopted by the ministry in designing the platform reflects the actual needs of the business community and ensures that decisions are based on a studied vision aimed at maximizing the impact of reforms.

Attendees included Dr. Osama El-Gohary, Assistant to the Prime Minister and Head of the IDSC, Engineer Mohamed El-Gawsaky, Assistant Minister of Investment for Planning, Development and Digital Transformation, and Dr. Amany El-Wassal, Head of the Commercial Agreements Sector and Chairman of the Export Development Fund, along with representatives from the export councils and the Egyptian Exporters Association (ExpoLink).
