The meeting, held at the SCA headquarters in Cairo, included officials from CSTC for Egypt and Africa, as well as several SCA leaders. Discussions focused on proposed areas of cooperation to upgrade the SCA’s shipyards and companies using the latest global technology.
Admiral Rabie opened the meeting by affirming the SCA's
serious efforts to localize the maritime industry in all its fields and restore
the leadership of its shipyards and companies. He noted this would be achieved
through partnerships with major international shipyards to facilitate the
transfer of advanced technology and expertise. This initiative aims to enhance
technical capabilities, including equipment, infrastructure, and facilities, in
addition to providing advanced training programs to develop human capital, both
administratively and technically.
The SCA Chairman highlighted that the Suez Canal possesses a
vast industrial base that includes several shipyards and companies specializing
in the construction and maintenance of various marine units. He stressed that
its prime geographical location, coupled with its technical and human
resources, qualifies it to meet local market demands and compete regionally in
the near future.
The Vice President of CSTC, a CSSC subsidiary, expressed his
eagerness for joint cooperation with the SCA, viewing it as a new pillar for
strengthening the strategic relationship between China and Egypt. He emphasized
that partnering with the Chinese group offers promising opportunities to
enhance the operational and managerial efficiency of the SCA's shipyards. This
would be achieved by leveraging CSSC's integrated solutions and cumulative
experience in maritime-related fields such as training, mechanization,
technical consulting, and providing necessary supplies and spare parts for the
industry.
Admiral Rabie concluded the meeting by directing the
immediate start of preparations for a comprehensive development study following
the exchange of information. He also called for field visits to the SCA's
shipyards and companies to determine the optimal development strategy based on
market needs.
CSSC is ranked as one of the largest global entities in maritime industries, with 47 affiliated institutions, including shipyards, research centers, and consultancy offices. Its scope of work extends across 150 countries on five continents.
