The units, located in cities like New Cairo, New Alamein, and various cities in Upper Egypt, were part of a broader government initiative launched under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The offerings included 400,000 units across middle and upper-middle-income projects such as Diyarna, Janna, and Sakan Misr, with payment plans extending up to 10 years.
El-Sherbiny confirmed that he is examining the situation and
has formed a team to investigate the complaints submitted by applicants via a
hotline and email.
The Minister directed the bank to fully refund the application fees to all citizens who were unable to secure a unit in this round, with no deductions.
