Madbouly: Egypt's economic vision extends beyond IMF agreement

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said Tuesday that the government has an economic vision for the country extending to 2030, which goes beyond its agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting in the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly stated that the new vision, titled "The National Economic Development Narrative: Policies Supporting Growth and Employment," builds on previous economic reforms.

He announced that the comprehensive plan will be presented for a national dialogue to seek more consensus on its goals and strategies. The dialogue sessions, which will include experts and specialists, are intended to gather various views and proposals to create a fully integrated and agreed-upon narrative for Egypt's economic future.

Madbouly also discussed his recent meeting with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during which they explored ways to strengthen bilateral ties, particularly in economic and commercial fields.

He noted that the two leaders discussed the activation of a $7.5 billion package of direct Qatari investments in Egypt, which comes within the framework of the sisterly State of Qatar’s interest in supporting economic partnership with Egypt.

Madbouly stressed the importance of continued coordination with the Qatari business community to highlight promising investment opportunities and the incentives Egypt offers to attract more Qatari investments.
