The talks covered a number of proposed areas for collaboration in agriculture and food security, particularly agricultural investment. The minister noted that Egypt's agricultural sector is full of promising investment opportunities, encouraging Kuwaiti investors to explore land reclamation, poultry and fish farming, and agricultural processing.
Farouk said the Egyptian government has taken important
steps to improve the overall investment climate, especially in agriculture and
food security. He suggested inviting Kuwaiti investors and experts to visit
Egypt to see the opportunities firsthand.
He added that Egypt also has technical expertise that can be
shared with Kuwait, including in areas like pest and rodent control, veterinary
vaccines and medicines, and livestock production.
The Minister emphasized strengthening Egyptian agricultural
exports to Kuwait, particularly products that are in high demand in global
markets. He suggested arranging a visit by a Kuwaiti delegation to review
Egypt's horse quarantine system, given the recent development of that sector.
Ambassador Abul Wafa said he is committed to working to enhance cooperation in all fields between the two nations. He added that the agricultural sector will be a special priority during his tenure in Kuwait due to its importance in achieving food security. He praised the significant progress in Egypt's agricultural sector and the technical expertise that Kuwait can benefit from. Abul Wafa concluded that the main goal is to translate these discussions into tangible steps to increase trade and investment between the two countries.
