Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly met with Cai Qi, a member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on the sidelines of the "SCO Plus" summit in Tianjin, China. Madbouly attended the summit on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, accompanied by Egypt's Ambassador to China, Khaled Nazmy.

Cai Qi welcomed Madbouly and expressed his appreciation for Egypt's participation in the summit. He highlighted the progress of the bilateral relations between the two countries under the leadership of both nations and the potential for these relations to expand. He noted that the 70th anniversary of Egyptian-Chinese diplomatic relations will be celebrated, presenting an opportunity to explore further ways to support bilateral cooperation.

Madbouly thanked the Chinese government for the invitation and the warm hospitality, emphasizing Egypt's commitment to participating in the summit as part of the strategic partnership between the two countries. He noted that this participation aligns with the political leadership's directives to strengthen cooperation and bilateral relations across various fields.

During the meeting, Madbouly addressed the developments in the Gaza Strip, expressing hope for an end to the suffering of the Palestinian people and a ceasefire.

He affirmed Egypt's full support for China's unity and the "One China" policy and its sovereignty over its territories. He pointed out that China is Egypt's largest trading partner and expressed his desire to encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Egypt, acknowledging the significant role many Chinese firms have played in major development projects in Egypt over the past years, particularly in construction, transportation, and industry.

Madbouly invited Chinese companies to invest in Egypt's electric vehicle industry, given China's position as the world's largest producer of EVs. He suggested establishing such factories in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. He also expressed interest in cooperation in water desalination and the production of components for solar and wind energy projects.

The Prime Minister praised China's successful development experience and its efforts to combat poverty, citing Egypt's own initiatives, such as eliminating unsafe slums and the presidential initiative Hayat Karima (Decent Life) to develop the Egyptian countryside.

For his part, Cai Qi pointed to the understandings between the political leaders of both countries to achieve further development in bilateral relations. He expressed support for increasing trade exchange and cited the industrial zone established by the developer TEDA as a successful model for strengthening relations.

Cai Qi confirmed that there is great potential for cooperation in the electric vehicle industry, stating that the Chinese government supports this direction and is keen to implement such investments in Egypt. He also mentioned ongoing cooperation in water desalination and encouraged a specialized Chinese company to collaborate with Egypt.

He reiterated support for President El-Sisi's development and renaissance efforts in Egypt and looked forward to mutual support for the priorities of both nations, hoping to solidify and deepen relations.
