Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Badr Abdelatty recently met with members of the Egyptian community in New York City during his visit to the United States, emphasizing the importance of their role and the government's commitment to their well-being.

During the meeting, Abdelatty underscored his dedication to engaging with Egyptian communities during his foreign travels. He lauded the significant contributions of the Egyptian diaspora in the U.S., crediting them with strengthening ties between Egypt and the United States.

The Minister addressed the substantial challenges currently facing the region, asserting Egypt's continuous efforts to safeguard its national security and maintain stability amidst a highly complex regional and international landscape. He praised the Egyptian people's resilience and the strong internal unity in the face of surrounding turmoil.

He highlighted the Egyptian economy's steadfastness against successive international crises in recent years, particularly the ongoing repercussions of the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

 Dr. Abdelatty affirmed that the welfare of Egyptian citizens abroad is a top priority for the Egyptian state. He detailed the ministry's intensive efforts to enhance and streamline consular services, including digital transformation initiatives. He also spoke of ongoing collaborations with various state institutions aimed at delivering efficient and accessible services and removing obstacles faced by Egyptians living overseas.

The Minister outlined a series of recent initiatives designed to support Egyptians abroad. These include facilitating secure financial transfers through modern applications, simplifying procedures for opening bank accounts from abroad, and offering residential units and agricultural lands under favorable conditions. Educational initiatives, such as preferential advantages for Egyptians abroad in Egyptian universities, were also highlighted.

 He reiterated the state's commitment to fostering stronger connections with Egyptian communities. He confirmed that preparations are underway for the sixth Egyptians Abroad Conference, scheduled for August 3-4, 2025. This conference will serve as a national platform for direct dialogue and the exchange of ideas with Egyptians living overseas. In this context, the Foreign Minister stressed the critical importance of Egyptians abroad participating in upcoming national elections, upholding their constitutional rights and civic duties.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion, allowing community members to share their insights and suggestions on how to further enhance consular services abroad.
