Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, met on
Tuesday with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime
Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The meeting took place during Madbouly’s return trip from
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he represented President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at
the BRICS summit.
According to Counselor Mohamed El-Homsani, Spokesman for the
Egyptian Cabinet, the meeting underscored both countries' mutual commitment to
strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting joint investments across
various sectors.
Madbouly emphasized the longstanding and deep-rooted
relations between Egypt and Qatar, highlighting Egypt’s eagerness to further
advance bilateral ties in accordance with the directives of both countries'
leaderships. He also expressed his aspiration to boost joint investments in
promising sectors of the Egyptian economy, particularly tourism, reaffirming
Egypt’s willingness to offer a range of incentives and facilitations to Qatari
investors.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman stressed Qatar’s commitment
to enhancing relations with Egypt across all fields, noting the ongoing
cooperation between the two sides in numerous economic sectors. He also
indicated Qatar’s intention to increase its investments in Egypt.
The two sides further discussed ongoing joint efforts, in
coordination with the United States, to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
They reiterated their shared commitment to ending the suffering of the
Palestinian people and ensuring their legitimate rights, particularly the right
to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along the
June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
