Accor International to develop Mövenpick Hotel in West Cairo

Accor, a global hospitality company, has signed an agreement to open the Mövenpick Cairo West in 2028. This new 220-room hotel, located in the rapidly expanding Sheikh Zayed City within the West Cairo area, is being developed by Crest Developments' subsidiary, Living Lines. The initiative is part of a broader master plan to address the growing demand for luxury accommodations across the Greater Cairo region.

The Mövenpick Cairo West will offer a comprehensive range of amenities, including 220 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a café, a 500-square-meter ballroom, and four meeting rooms. Guests will also have access to extensive leisure and wellness facilities, such as a spa, a fitness center, and two swimming pools.

Paul Stevens, Chief Operating Officer for Accor's Premium, Midscale, and Economy Brands in the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, highlighted that the partnership with Crest Developments will significantly boost Accor's hotel portfolio in Egypt. This agreement aligns with Accor's strategy to expand into promising markets across the region, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait, driven by the rapid growth of the travel sector.

Accor already has a strong presence in Egypt, boasting 38 operational hotels under six brands, totaling 12,900 rooms. Furthermore, a robust pipeline of 20 additional hotels (6,700 rooms) is in development. Notable existing properties include the Novotel Cairo 6th of October and the Mövenpick Cairo Media City, with the highly anticipated Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza also set for completion in the near future.
