The inauguration was attended by Engineer Tamer Idris, Vice
President of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation for Production, Dr.
Mohamed Radwan, Vice President of the South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding
Company for Agreements and Exploration and Director of the Egypt Upstream
Gateway (EUG), Engineer Khaled Nouh, CEO of Taqa, Engineer Amir Nessim, Vice
President of Operations, Engineer Hossam Abouseif, Vice President for Africa
and Iraq regions; and Engineer Moataz Serag, Taqa's Country Manager for Egypt.
A number of heads of production companies and international companies operating
in Egypt were also present.
The Minister of Petroleum opened his speech by praising the historical
and fraternal relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, highlighting their deep
cooperation and prosperity. He commended the constructive partnership between
the two countries' Ministries of Petroleum and Energy, specifically
acknowledging Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the Saudi Minister of Energy, for
his role in strengthening joint energy cooperation. The Minister noted that
Prince Abdulaziz's speech at the opening of the Egypt International Energy
Conference (EGYPS) underscored the strength of these ties. He further welcomed
Taqa Group's presence in the Egyptian energy sector, viewing their new
operations center as a sign of their serious commitment to investment in Egypt.
Badawi stated that Egypt aims to unlock the energy sector's
potential in Egypt and the region. He emphasized that the Ministry's six core
pillars present significant opportunities for cooperation with Taqa Group,
including increasing production through advanced technology, modernizing the
mining sector, and pursuing renewable energy projects. This collaboration also
extends to reducing emissions, improving safety and energy efficiency, and
enhancing regional cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
Engineer Khaled Nouh, CEO of Taqa, hailed the center as a model
of successful partnership with Egypt and a significant company achievement.
Nouh explained that the new center, offering advanced services and solutions
for oil sites and renewable energy projects, underscores Taqa's commitment to
working and investing in Egypt and supporting the energy industry's needs. He
stressed that Egypt is central to the company's efforts in developing carbon
emission reduction solutions.
He commended Egypt's clear vision in diversifying energy
sources, expressing his company's pride in partnering with Egypt. He noted
their participation in injecting investments, creating jobs, and providing
innovative technological solutions that contribute to achieving Egypt's energy
industry goals.
The Minister and attendees also received a presentation detailing the new center's capabilities: technology provision for the energy industry, design work, advanced equipment maintenance, and specialized training.
