Sisi receives Kuwaiti investment delegation

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today, Thursday, a Kuwaiti investment delegation headed by Mohammed Jassim Al-Saqr, Chairman of the Kuwaiti side of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Cooperation Council. The meeting was attended by Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration and Egyptians Abroad, and Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.

Presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shetawy stated that the President underscored the strong brotherly relations with Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait. He emphasized the necessity of increased Arab cooperation, particularly between Egypt and Kuwait as a model of constructive partnership, given global economic and regional challenges.

The head of the Kuwaiti delegation conveyed a message to the President from Emir Mishal Al-Sabah, stating that Kuwait is honored to support Egypt and that Kuwait will never forget Egypt's support for it at the beginning of the establishment of the State of Kuwait, while also emphasizing the Kuwaiti private sector's support for Egypt.

President El-Sisi highlighted the vital role of business leaders in fostering bilateral cooperation through mutually beneficial joint ventures that stimulate economic growth and create jobs. He reiterated the Egyptian government's eagerness to strengthen ties with Kuwaiti companies and attract further investment, assuring Egypt's readiness to facilitate a robust partnership with the Kuwaiti private sector. The delegation also viewed a film showcasing key ongoing and planned projects in Egypt suitable for Kuwaiti investment.

The President encouraged Kuwaiti investors to explore Egypt's opportunities, leverage available incentives, and pursue industrial partnerships with Egyptian firms in high value-added sectors. He emphasized the large and promising Egyptian market with significant needs across various fields, offering substantial investment returns.

The meeting addressed promising sectors for investment cooperation. The Kuwaiti delegation lauded Egypt's significant infrastructure development and attractive investment climate, affirming their commitment to expanding their investment footprint in Egypt to benefit both nations. They emphasized building upon the existing strategic partnership, noting that Kuwaiti investments in Egypt exceed $20 billion across over a thousand companies, with over 25% of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's projects located in Egypt.

They expressed keen interest in increasing their investments and actively participating in the upcoming "Egyptian-Gulf Investment Forum" in Cairo, recognizing Egypt's unprecedented development progress.
