Cabinet: New Airbus jets to drive EgyptAir growth

The Cabinet announced that the addition of the new Airbus A350‑900 to the fleet of the national carrier, EgyptAir, marks a significant strategic step in advancing the airline’s fleet development and strengthening its operational capabilities.

This milestone, the Cabinet affirmed, reflects EgyptAir’s commitment to implementing the most extensive modernization plan in its history.

The Cabinet’s Media Center mentioned that EgyptAir is the first airline in North Africa to operate this advanced aircraft model. The new aircraft is part of an agreement the company signed with Airbus to add a total of 16 aircraft of the A350900 type to its fleet.

The new aircraft operates using a blend of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), in line with global trends in the aviation industry and environmental sustainability, as well as Egypt’s national vision to transition toward more efficient and sustainable airtransport systems, support emissionreduction efforts, and promote the green economy.

The new aircraft, received during a handover ceremony attended yesterday, Saturday by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, features a modern twoclass cabin layout, including 30 businessclass seats and 310 economyclass seats. It also includes the advanced Airspace cabin, offering greater comfort and reduced noise levels for passengers and crew, enhancing the long-haul travel experience.

The A350-900 is among the world’s most advanced and efficient aircraft, incorporating cutting-edge aerodynamics and new-generation Rolls. Royce engines that reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 25%. It also provides modern in-flight entertainment systems and higher comfort standards.
