Hashem pointed out that the Ministry will spare no effort in developing Egyptian industry and supporting industrial investors. The goal is to increase production, enhance the quality of Egyptian products, meet local market needs, and boost the competitiveness of Egyptian goods in international markets.
These remarks came during the Minister’s first statements
after taking the constitutional oath before President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He
praised the political leadership’s ongoing commitment to injecting new energy
into the government to improve performance across the state’s administrative
apparatus.
The Minister also expressed appreciation for the significant
efforts of Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, during his
tenure in the industry portfolio. He confirmed that the Ministry will build on
these achievements to create a qualitative leap in the industrial sector and
strengthen communication with local and international private sector
representatives.
The two ministers met at the Ministry of Industry
headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to review current work files and
the urgent plan to revitalize industry. They discussed the development of
strategic industrial sectors and identified 28 promising industries targeted
for increased investment. These sectors form a key part of the state’s plan to
deepen local manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports, contributing to
comprehensive industrial development goals.
Hashem also held a meeting with senior officials of the
Ministry and the heads of its affiliated agencies. The discussions focused on
assessing each entity’s role and performance and defining the general
frameworks and policies guiding the Ministry’s operations in the coming period.
