Accor, Saoud Urban Development launch Swissôtel in West Cairo

Accor, the global hospitality group, has signed a partnership agreement with Saoud Urban Development to develop the Swissôtel West Cairo as a mixed-use project. The move is part of the group’s strategy to expand in the Egyptian market and enhance its hotel portfolio. The project, located in West Cairo, will feature 180 hotel rooms, over 250 branded residential units to meet the needs of residents and investors, as well as retail and entertainment spaces and fully equipped event and banquet halls.

The project marks Saoud Urban Development’s first expansion outside the Gulf region. Led by Mustafa Talha and CEO Sheikha Mariam Al Qasimi, the company aims to bring its UAE-based development model, focused on quality and innovation, to Egypt. Mustafa Talha stated that the project represents a pivotal milestone for the company and reflects the strength of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the UAE. He added that the project aims to redefine standards of upscale living in Egypt through world-class destinations.

Raki Phillips, Regional President of Accor, said that the launch of the Swissôtel brand in Cairo aligns with the group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in key cities experiencing strong tourism and urban growth. Accor currently manages 38 hotels in Egypt, offering over 13,000 rooms, and plans to add 22 new contracted projects, which will increase its capacity by approximately 7,000 additional rooms in the near future.
