Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy, Presidential Spokesperson, said that the forum witnessed wide participation from representatives of the Egyptian and Turkish governments. The event also brought together leading business figures from both countries. More than 460 executives and representatives of Turkish companies operating in Egypt or exploring new investment opportunities took part. Around 270 representatives of Egypt’s private sector also attended.
Forum sessions discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade
between the two countries. The sessions also reviewed available opportunities
for Turkish investments in the Egyptian market.
Ambassador Mohamed El Shenawy noted that the President
delivered the closing address at the conclusion of the forum. President El-Sisi
welcomed President Erdogan and his accompanying delegation. He expressed deep
appreciation for the business communities in both countries. He highlighted
their role in boosting economic and trade cooperation in recent years. He said
this reflects the strength of ties and shared interests between Egypt and
Turkey.
El-Sisi also expressed his sincere thanks to all those who
contributed to organizing the distinguished forum and its sessions. He said the
forum was held at a highly significant time. He stressed that it underscores
the weight of the economic partnership between the two countries.
He said that economic relations between Egypt and Turkey are
based on solid and practical foundations. He explained that strong economic
integration, geographic and cultural proximity, and political will have helped
achieve unprecedented levels of trade and investment cooperation.
El-Sisi noted that bilateral trade has reached nearly USD 9
billion. He said both sides aim to increase it to USD 15 billion or more. He
added that this has made Egypt Turkey’s leading trading partner in Africa. He
also said that Turkey is among the main destinations for Egyptian exports.
He added that Turkish investments in Egypt have exceeded USD
4 billion. He stressed that this achievement reflects joint efforts by
governments and business communities. He said investors are key partners in
this success.
El-Sisi said that, building on this positive momentum and
marking 100 years of diplomatic relations, his discussions with President
Erdogan confirmed strong consensus that cooperation opportunities have not yet
been fully utilized. He said both sides agreed to work together to increase
trade volumes and attract more Turkish investments. He added that this will be
achieved through Turkish participation in Egypt’s industrial development in
priority sectors.
He highlighted structural reforms in Egypt’s investment
environment. He referred to multiple incentives and competitive advantages. He
emphasized Egypt’s strategic location and access to regional and international
markets through free trade agreements. He also stressed the availability of a
skilled workforce.
President El-Sisi paid special tribute to the successful
experience of Turkish investors in the textiles and garments sector in Egypt.
He said their contribution represents a significant share of the sector’s
exports. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s welcome to expanding Turkish investments in
chemical and medical industries. He said such investments add real value,
create job opportunities, and transfer industrial and technological expertise.
