The Media Center stated that, following coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the ministry confirmed that no cases of avian influenza have been detected in any Egyptian farms.
The Ministry emphasized that its active surveillance
committees have intensified their campaigns across all governorates, covering
poultry farms, markets, and migratory bird routes. These precautionary measures
aim to detect any potential epidemic diseases affecting birds. Comprehensive
periodic examinations are conducted, and samples are collected for analysis at
the Animal Health Research Laboratory to ensure the health and disease-free
status of poultry.
The Ministry noted that the slight increase in poultry
prices during the current period is due to succession social and religious
seasons, which see higher demand for poultry and poultry products. It confirmed
that poultry prices are currently 20 percent lower than during the same period
last year.
The statement added that Egypt’s exports of poultry and
poultry products to foreign markets are recording a notable increase, further
confirming the absence of any disease-related issues within the country.
Additionally, the Ministry explained that the number of
isolated poultry farms is increasing in accordance with the standards of the
World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), reflecting the stable health
situation on Egyptian poultry farms. It also noted a 14 percent rise in poultry
and table egg production compared to the previous year.
